Security
AudienceNet undertakes technical and organisational measures to ensure confidentiality and integrity within all our systems and processes. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) states that organisations should have measures in place to provide data protection by default and by design; we have updated our privacy and security policies to reflect this.
AudienceNet considers all or any potential data protection risk(s) at the set up/design phase of each project, implementing strict data processing policies, only granting access to personal data on a ”need to know” basis and minimising the data held in our systems by providing enhanced policies and tooling to manage data retention. We use pseudonymisation techniques (i.e. coding systems) and password protection of files in order to protect participant personal data while it is on our systems and encrypt all employee personal data. In addition to this, all devices used to access personal data are either password-protected, have a passcode/pin or require Touch ID, and we have implemented various encryption solutions, notably on all employees’ laptops.
AudienceNet has provided employee training sessions (both internal and external) to ensure a high level of data protection awareness and data protection adherence.
AudienceNet puts in place contractual measures for cross border data transfers with its suppliers. When a data transfer is required in a country not recognized as having an adequate level of data protection, we ensure that EU Standard Contractual Clauses are in place to ensure appropriate technical and organisational measures for the protection of the personal data.
AudienceNet conducts regular patching (keeping devices and operating systems up to date) in order to fix any security vulnerabilities that have been discovered and to provide greater resilience to malicious cyber attacks. In addition, we use anti-virus security software to protect all laptops, and firewalls are active across browsers to ensure that all incoming traffic via the Internet is trusted.
AudienceNet has Cyber Essentials certification, which demonstrates our commitment to cybersecurity and helps to guard against the most common cyber threats. Cyber Essentials is a Government-backed, industry-supported scheme to help organisations protect themselves against common online threats.
